Peter Schrager was born on April 20, 1982, in Freehold Township, New Jersey. He attended Freehold Township High School before earning a degree in political science from Emory University in 2004. While at Emory, he wrote for the student newspaper, the Emory Wheel, and hosted a popular campus radio show. He began his professional career writing for ESPN.com before transitioning to FoxSports.com in 2006, where he also made his first on-camera appearances.
Over the following years, Schrager became one of the most trusted NFL insiders in sports media, contributing as a sideline reporter and studio analyst at Fox Sports and FS1. In 2016, he helped to launch NFL Network’s Emmy Award-winning Good Morning Football, where he served as a co-host. He was also a fixture on Fox NFL Kickoff and regularly appeared on The Herd with Colin Cowherd and The Dan Patrick Show.
In April 2025, Schrager made a high-profile move to ESPN, signing a multi-year deal to appear across the network’s flagship programming. He hosts The Season with Peter Schrager podcast on iHeartPodcasts and contributes to ESPN Radio and ESPN.com.
