Paul Gorton was born in 1988 in Manchester, England. Before becoming known on television, he worked primarily as a business manager and technology professional. He gained early media exposure through various entertainment appearances and podcast collaborations before entering reality television.

His first TV appearance came in 2010, when he competed on the British game show Deal or No Deal. He later appeared in 2012 on the Extreme Sports Channel series Quest for the Backflip, which followed his passion for BMX riding and extreme sports.

Gorton rose to national recognition in 2024 as a contestant on The Traitors on BBC One, where he was selected as a “Traitor” in the strategic reality-competition programme hosted by Claudia Winkleman. His strategic gameplay and outspoken personality made him one of the most talked-about contestants of the series.

Following the show’s success, he expanded his media presence through podcasting and writing. In 2026, he moved into presenting and began co-hosting the BBC Two quiz series Do You Know Your Place? alongside Vernon Kay.
