Paul Carter

Profile Overview

Paul Carter was born without lower arms or legs and grew up in Kent, England. He has dreamt of becoming a journalist all his life. He was raised in a family that treated him no differently from his non-disabled brothers, and his parents made a conscious decision to send him to mainstream school so he could have the same childhood as any other non-disabled child his age. His date of birth and details of his parents are not publicly available.

Paul began his career as a staff writer for Zoo magazine, then landed a role as a reporter at Disability Now. In 2010, he made a career switch into television production, joining Markthree Media and going on to produce coverage of the 2012 Paralympic Games and BBC Newsnight. In 2015, Paul returned to journalism and became a broadcast journalist for BBC Radio 5 Live on the breakfast show.

He went on to become senior reporter for BBC Click and presenter of TechXplore on BBC News, the latter a standalone travel-tech series in which he explores destinations across the globe, hunting down their cutting-edge tech and the people creating it. He also presents World’s Greatest Train Journeys, BBC Tech Now, and Access All on the BBC.

Paul Carter’s personal life — including relationship status and family — is not publicly available.
