Nina Blissett presents BBC Newsround, the long-running children’s news programme broadcast on CBBC and available via BBC iPlayer. She is based with the Newsround team at BBC Salford, Manchester.

Her interest in television and media was sparked at Loughborough University, where a visiting talk from journalist Joe Tidy (a Newsround alumnus) around 2012 pointed her toward a broadcasting career.

She began her BBC career behind the camera, working as a researcher and later an assistant producer on Newsround before transitioning into presenting. As a reporter she has covered a wide range of stories for the programme, including political news events such as Nicola Sturgeon’s resignation, and the evacuation of British children from Sudan. She also delivered her first national weather bulletins on the BBC News Channel.

She has covered major sporting events for Newsround, including the Women’s World Cup in Australia and Euro 2025 in Switzerland, and has interviewed high-profile guests such as Children in Need’s first child presenter, Lenny Rush, and Lioness players Mary Earps and Steph Houghton.
