Nicki Chapman was born on 14 January 1967 in Herne Bay, Kent, England. Her father worked for Rank Xerox and her mother was a homemaker, and she attended St Anselm’s Catholic School in Canterbury.
She began her career in the late 1980s in the music industry, working in promotions for major record labels and later becoming a prominent publicist for artists such as the Spice Girls. Her transition to television came in the early 2000s when she became a judge on Popstars and Pop Idol.
Chapman later moved into broadcasting and became a regular presenter on Escape to the Country on BBC One, where she helps house hunters find rural homes across the UK. She has also hosted spin-offs such as I Escaped to the Country and Escape to the Continent.
Alongside this, she presents on BBC Radio 2 and Magic Radio and has fronted coverage of the RHS Chelsea Flower Show since 2006.
She currently lives in London with her husband Dave, maintaining a busy career in television and radio.
