Natasha Raskin Sharp was born 15 June 1986 in Glasgow, Scotland. She grew up in a creative family; her father is renowned Scottish landscape artist Philip Raskin, and her grandfather Max Raskin was a television magician. She was raised alongside two siblings in a family passionate about art and collecting.
She initially studied law at the University of Leeds, but left the course after a short time. She later attended the University of Glasgow, where she completed a degree in History of Art, shaping her future career in the art and antiques world.
After graduating, she joined the McTear’s Auction House in Glasgow, where she worked as an auctioneer and eventually became Head of Pictures, specialising in Scottish contemporary art. Her experience in the auction industry helped her build a reputation as an art expert.
Raskin Sharp later moved into television and became a familiar face on BBC antiques programmes. She has appeared on Bargain Hunt (BBC One), Antiques Road Trip, Celebrity Antiques Road Trip, and Flog It!, and also presented a weekly programme on BBC Radio Scotland.
She lives in Glasgow with her husband, television producer Joe Sharp, and their daughter Jean, who was born in January 2024.
