Born in Antwerp, Belgium on May 18th, 1994, to a Belgian father (David Schiff) and Rwandan mother (Alice N’Dahimana Schiff), she and her sister Sarah grew up in Johannesburg, South Africa after a family move. David was a racing driver, but Schiff herself stresses that he did not push her into motorsport.

At the age of 11, Schiff went go-karting after attending a family friend’s birthday party and was intoxicated by the experience. Wanting to take her first steps as a racer, she and her father visited karting circuits across South Africa to prepare for her maiden season. Schiff began her career in single-seater racing cars in 2010, driving in the South African Formula Volkswagen Championship as a 16-year-old.

She secured eight of ten pole positions and won seven of ten races in the 2014 Clio Cup China Series, comfortably winning the championship. In 2018, Schiff competed in the 24 Hours of Nürburgring, finishing 2nd in class, and in 2019 she raced six Grands Prix in the inaugural W Series for Hitech GP. In 2020, Schiff was appointed as the diversity and inclusion ambassador for the W Series.

In February 2022, Schiff presented the Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 Team car launch for the Mercedes W13 alongside Natalie Pinkham. The following month, she was announced as co-presenter on the new Sky Sports F1 show Any Driven Monday, and has been part of the Sky Sports F1 team since 2022. She has appeared full-time on the channel since 2023, after a very favourable response to her 2022 debut.

Naomi married husband Alexandre Dedieu at a civil ceremony in Paris in September 2024, and announced in May 2025 that she was pregnant with their first child. On October 27, 2025, Naomi announced the birth of a baby boy, named Raphaël Schiff-Dedieu.
