Born on 25 February 1975 in Streatham, London, Naga Munchetty grew up in a multicultural family with an Indian mother and Mauritian father. She developed an interest in journalism and studied English literature and language before entering the media world.

Munchetty’s journalism career began in print with the Evening Standard and The Observer, later moving into television finance reporting for Reuters and other networks. She joined the BBC in 2008 and became a regular presenter on BBC Breakfast in 2014.

At the BBC she also presents on BBC Radio 5 Live’s mid-morning show and contributes to Claimed and Shamed, Moneybox, Pick of the Week and other programmes. Her versatile presenting style spans news, current affairs and consumer reporting.

Naga previously dated Norwegian footballer Jonny Hansen. She is currently married to James Haggar. The couple has children, a decision they made consciously to allow them focus on their life together.
