Mudenda was born in South London on 19 December 1994 to a Zambian family. Her parents’ names are not publicly confirmed. She has been afraid of dogs from a young age after being bitten by one in Zambia. She graduated with an anthropology degree from a Manchester university, and started YouTubing under the name Mwaksy in 2014.

In 2018 she joined MediaCityUK as an assistant producer at BBC Sport, making sports content relatable for younger audiences and filming videos for Instagram. A video she made for that platform, “Bust Down with Mwaksy”, brought her to the attention of BBC Children’s and Education, who invited her for a screen test. She is the only presenter in the show’s history to be revealed virtually, due to the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020.

Throughout her time on Blue Peter, she presented King Charles III with a Gold Blue Peter Badge, qualified for an Accelerated Freefall Skydive at 15,000ft as her final challenge, and inspired millions of children across the country. She also produced language learning lessons in French, Spanish, and science, and co-hosted Chester Zoo’s 2022 Wildlife Connections Festival.

Mudenda departed Blue Peter in September 2023. In 2023 she co-hosted Becoming Xtraordinary for Da Vinci streaming with Evan Edinger and Bear Grylls, interviewing Julia Roberts, Roger Federer, Courteney Cox, Channing Tatum, Olympic gold medallists and Nobel laureates. She subsequently presented the Barnardo’s National Choral Competition in March 2024 and the Greater Manchester Health and Care Champion Awards in July 2025.
