Miranda Cosgrove is an American actress, singer, TV personality, and producer. She was born on May 14, 1993, to Tom Cosgrove, a dry-cleaning business owner, and Chris Cosgrove, a homemaker. Discovered at age three by a talent agent while singing and dancing at a restaurant, she began her career in television commercials before landing her first major role in School of Rock (2003) alongside Jack Black.
Cosgrove starred as Megan Parker on Nickelodeon’s Drake & Josh before headlining her own series, iCarly, as Carly Shay. At the show’s peak, she earned $180,000 per episode, making her one of the highest-paid child actors in television history. Since 2019, she has hosted Mission Unstoppable with Miranda Cosgrove on CBS. She also reprised her role as Carly Shay in the iCarly Paramount+ revival, which she also executive-produced, and has also voiced Margo in the Despicable Me franchise since 2010.
Cosgrove currently resides in Los Angeles and remains a frequent collaborator with her longtime co-star Nathan Kress on various digital and charity projects.
