Michael Anthony Strahan was born on November 21, 1971, in Houston, Texas. When he was nine, his family relocated to Mannheim, West Germany, where his father was stationed. He attended Mannheim American High School and played for the school’s football team before returning to Houston for his senior year. There, he attended Westbury High School before earning a scholarship to Texas Southern University.
Strahan was selected by the New York Giants in the second round of the 1993 NFL Draft. Over the next 15 seasons, he became one of the most dominant defensive ends in NFL history. He capped his career with a Super Bowl XLII championship in 2007.
After retiring in 2008, Strahan joined Fox NFL Sunday as an analyst. He also co-hosted Live! with Kelly and Michael from 2012 to 2016. He then became a full-time co-anchor on ABC’s Good Morning America in 2016 — a role he holds today. Michael Straham has also served as the host of The $100,000 Pyramid, a word-association game show on ABC since 2016.
