Maryam Moshiri is a senior journalist and chief presenter for BBC News, broadcasting on the BBC News Channel and internationally on BBC World News. She currently hosts The World Today with Maryam Moshiri, a global news programme featuring interviews with cultural, political, and business figures.

Born in Tehran, Iran, Moshiri moved to London with her family as a child shortly before the Iranian Revolution. Her international background later influenced her reporting on global politics, economics, and international affairs.

She joined the BBC in 2003 after working as a business reporter for Independent Radio News. For more than 16 years she specialized in business journalism, presenting flagship BBC programmes such as World Business Report, The Business Briefing, and Talking Business.

She lives in London with her husband, Jonathan Farmer and their three children while continuing her work as one of the BBC’s senior international news presenters.
