Marvin Humes was born on 18 March 1985 in Greenwich, London, to a Jamaican father and an Anglo-Scottish mother. He showed an early interest in music and acting, attending St. Edward’s Church of England School in Romford, where he excelled in performing arts.
He first came to public attention as a member of boy band JLS, formed alongside Aston Merrygold, JB Gill and Oritsé Williams, who finished runners-up on the 2008 series of The X Factor. Since JLS split in 2013, Marvin has built a broadcasting career. He currently presents a weekday mid-morning show on Kiss and an afternoon show on Kisstory, having previously hosted a late-night show on the Capital Network and The Official Big Top 40 chart show between 2013 and 2018. Between 2014 and 2016, he co-hosted BBC One’s The Voice UK with Emma Willis. Since 2019, he has co-hosted The Hit List, a BBC One music quiz show, alongside his wife Rochelle Humes.
