Martin Roberts was born on 20 July 1963 in Warrington, Cheshire, England. He was raised in Stockton Heath, and his early life included exposure to music and broadcasting through his family.
He began his career in broadcasting at BBC Radio Manchester in the late 1980s, later expanding into television and journalism. He worked as a travel presenter on ITV’s Wish You Were Here…? and contributed to national media as a journalist and editor.
Roberts gained national recognition in 2003 when he became a presenter on Homes Under the Hammer on BBC One. The programme follows property auctions and renovations and has become one of the BBC’s most popular daytime shows.
Alongside television, he built a career as a property investor, author, and public speaker, frequently appearing as an expert on BBC and radio programmes.
He lives in the UK with his family and continues to work in broadcasting and property development, while also engaging in charity and community projects.
