Margie Cooper was born on 11th May 1949 in Lancashire, England. She grew up with an interest in antiques, influenced by her grandmother, who was also an antiques dealer.
Before entering the antiques world, she worked as a fashion model and later as a journalist. Her passion for antiques eventually led her to open her own antiques business in the 1980s, building a reputation over several decades.
She first appeared on the BBC’s Antiques Roadshow in 1985, establishing herself as a knowledgeable and trusted expert.
In 2010, she became a regular expert on Antiques Road Trip, broadcast on BBC One (previously BBC Two), where she travels across the UK buying and selling antiques for charity.
She lives in Cheshire with her husband and continues to work in antiques and television, maintaining a relatively private but active family life.
