Margherita Taylor was born on 26 April 1972 in Islington, London, England. She is of mixed heritage, including Trinidadian, Ghanaian, and Danish roots.

She studied media and communications at the University of Central England (now Birmingham City University), specialising in video production. Her broadcasting career began in 1993 after winning a talent contest at Birmingham radio station BRMB.

Taylor rose to prominence in radio, working with Capital London and later hosting shows on Smooth Radio and Classic FM. She has also built a strong television career, presenting shows such as T4 on Channel 4 and contributing to ITV programmes including Good Morning Britain and This Morning.

She became a presenter on BBC One’s Countryfile, a long-running rural affairs programme, and also hosted Escape to the Country between 2016 and 2022.

In her personal life, she keeps a relatively low profile but is known to have at least one child. She continues to work actively in broadcasting and was awbarded an MBE in 2022 for services to broadcasting and diversity.
