Lesley Judd was born on 20 December 1946 in London, England. Information about her parents has remained largely private, and she has rarely discussed her early family life publicly.
She trained as a performer and began her career in entertainment during the 1960s. Before joining children’s television, she appeared in stage productions and worked in broadcasting, developing experience as both an actress and presenter.
In July 1972, Judd joined Blue Peter on BBC One, becoming one of the programme’s most recognisable presenters. During her seven-year tenure, she participated in the show’s famous expeditions, challenges, charity appeals, and educational features, helping make the programme one of Britain’s most successful children’s shows.
She left Blue Peter in 1979 and continued working in television, theatre, pantomime, and public appearances. She later became involved with several charities, particularly organisations supporting disabled children and people with visual impairments.
Judd has largely lived away from the spotlight in recent years while remaining fondly remembered by generations of Blue Peter viewers.
