Laurence Richardson founded Jukeboxclever, an Essex-based business dedicated to the restoration, repair, sale, and prop hire of vintage American jukeboxes and Americana. His specialist focus centres on Rock-Ola and Wurlitzer vinyl jukeboxes from the 1950s to 1970s, which he restores to the highest quality whilst maintaining each item’s originality.

Laurence’s interest in Americana takes him on regular road trips in the United States to source antique gas pumps, neon signs, and vintage signage, all of which he restores and sells through Jukeboxclever alongside his jukebox work. He also provides jukebox prop hire services for film, television, advertising, and theatre productions from his Essex base.

In 2017, Laurence appeared on the BBC’s The Repair Shop, Series 1, Episode 8, where he was tasked with restoring an iconic 1950s Wurlitzer jukebox, one of the most technically demanding items brought into the barn during the show’s debut series.
