Laura Goodwin is a broadcast journalist born in South Africa who later moved to Scotland at age 12. She attended school in St Andrews and developed an interest in media and storytelling during her early years.

Goodwin began her broadcasting career at Moray Firth Radio in Inverness. She later joined STV in Aberdeen, where she worked as a reporter and presenter covering regional and national stories, including major infrastructure and political developments in Scotland.

In 2018 she joined BBC Scotland as the broadcaster’s first Innovation Correspondent, reporting on science, technology, and business stories across the country. Her reporting frequently appeared on The Nine and other BBC Scotland programmes.

In May 2025 she became a lead presenter of Reporting Scotland on BBC One Scotland, anchoring the programme on Thursdays and Fridays alongside Laura Miller. She balances her journalism career with family life in Scotland.
