Keith Morrison is a Canadian journalist who built an international reputation through decades of television reporting. Born in Lloydminster, Saskatchewan, he began his career in the 1960s as a newspaper reporter, then transitioned to radio and television journalism. Morrison worked at several Canadian stations and rose to prominence at CTV, where he served as a reporter, producer, and national affairs correspondent on programs including CTV National News and Canada AM.
In 1986, Morrison moved to Los Angeles and joined KNBC-TV as a news anchor before becoming a West Coast correspondent for NBC News programs such as NBC Nightly News and Today. After returning briefly to Canada to host Canada AM, he rejoined NBC News in 1995 as a correspondent for Dateline NBC.
Since then, Morrison has become one of the most recognizable voices in television true-crime journalism. His storytelling style and in-depth interviews have helped define Dateline NBC, where he has reported on hundreds of investigations and high-profile criminal cases. Outside of television, he has also hosted several successful Dateline true-crime podcasts and remains one of NBC News’ most enduring correspondents.
