Julian Warren was born in 1976 and raised on the Wirral Peninsula in northwest England. Growing up in a football-loving region, he developed a passion for the game from an early age. As a child, he regularly attended Everton matches with his father, fostering a deep connection to the club that still runs strong today.
Julian pursued studies related to media and communications, though it was his hands-on experience in radio that laid the foundation for his broadcasting career. He began in Manchester, covering local football teams and events such as the 2002 Commonwealth Games. He later worked at Hallam FM in Sheffield as a sports editor, where he gained valuable experience managing live coverage and commentary.
In 2008, Julian joined Sky Sports, one of the UK’s leading sports broadcasters. This marked a pivotal moment in his career. He has fronted several big events for Sky Sports News, including the 2019 Nations League in Portugal, “Meet the England Squad” ahead of the 2018 World Cup, and Euro 2016 coverage from Paris. He also broadcast live from Leicester City’s Premier League title parade, as well as the 2013 Champions League final at Wembley and the London Olympics.
Jules lives with his wife and two children in Oxfordshire, mixing his family time with a hectic sports schedule. He describes himself on Instagram as a “Presenter @skysports, Soccer Special, Sky Sports Football, The Premier League Show. Event Host. Husband & dad of two.”
