Julia Bradbury was born on 24 July 1970 in Dublin, Ireland, and raised in Sheffield, England. Her father was an English marketing executive and her mother a Greek dress designer, both of whom encouraged her love of the outdoors.
She began her television career in the 1990s, working in Los Angeles before returning to the UK to help launch Channel 5. She later became widely known through programmes such as Top Gear, Watchdog, and Countryfile on BBC One.
Bradbury has specialised in walking and travel documentaries, including Canal Walks with Julia Bradbury, which aired on BBC Four in 2011. The series follows her exploring Britain’s canal network and historic towpaths.
She has continued to front numerous outdoor series such as Britain’s Best Walks and Wainwright Walks, becoming one of the UK’s most recognisable nature presenters.
Bradbury currently lives in the UK with her partner, Gerard and children, balancing broadcasting with writing and wellness advocacy following her recovery from breast cancer.
