Born in New York City and later growing up in Ohio, Jericka Duncan was exposed to television broadcasting at an early age through her father’s career as a sports anchor. She attended Aurora High School in Ohio, where she was a standout track and field athlete. Duncan then attended Ohio University, where she also competed in track and field, and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications.
After college, Duncan began her first job as a reporter at the local television station WETM-TV in Elmira, New York. She later moved to CBS affiliates WIVB-TV in Buffalo (2007 – 2010) and KYW-TV in Philadelphia (2010 – 2013). In 2013, CBS News named her a national correspondent, marking her transition to the national stage.
In 2020, Jericka Duncan was promoted to an anchor, hosting CBS’s Sunday evening television broadcast. Today, she anchors both the Saturday and Sunday editions of CBS Weekend News. She has covered major stories including the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 presidential election, and the Sean Combs trial. Her work has earned Emmy nominations, National Edward R. Murrow Awards, and honors from journalism organizations nationwide.
