Jeff Glor

Profile Overview

Jeff Glor was born on July 12, 1975, in Tonawanda, New York, near Buffalo. He studied journalism and economics at Syracuse University, where he graduated magna cum laude in 1997. His career began at WSTM-TV in Syracuse, initially as a news writer and later rising to co-anchor. By 2003, he moved to WHDH in Boston as a weekend anchor and weekday reporter. 

Glor then joined CBS in 2007, where he would spend the next 17 years. During his tenure, he covered major events, from the Sandy Hook Elementary shootings to the Boston Marathon Bombings. He also anchored several CBS News programs, including CBS This Morning, CBS Saturday Evening News, CBS Sunday Evening News, and The Early Show. 

In 2017, he became the anchor of the flagship CBS Evening News before transitioning to the morning slot as the co-host of CBS Saturday Morning in 2019. His tenure at the network ended in 2024, when he left CBS amid Paramount’s layoffs. Following his exit, he took a break from his media career to write a book, The Stories That Saved Me, which is scheduled for publication in 2027.
