Ethan Goodbody was born in the year 2000, making him around 24–25 years old. He is based in Brentwood, Essex. His parents and wider family background have not been discussed publicly, though since starting Mon Studios, model making has taken over multiple rooms in his parents’ family home, including the garage, bathroom, and spare room.

Ethan studied Engineering at Loughborough University, continuing to make models as a hobby throughout his studies — building prototypes and anything his mind could conjure. After graduating, he took up a full-time engineering role. He held a full-time engineering job until 2023, at which point he swapped to a part-time arrangement with the same company so he could invest more time in model making.

In October 2023, after four years of model making as a hobby, he took the leap and left his engineering career entirely to pursue his passion, founding Mon Studios — a company focused on meticulous, hand-crafted miniature models using 3D printing and laser cutting.

Ethan is one of a team of miniaturists on The Marvellous Miniature Workshop on BBC One, hosted by Sara Cox, recreating meaningful places and rooms in exquisite miniature detail.
