Ellie Harrison was born in 1977 in Gloucestershire, England. She grew up with a strong interest in wildlife and the outdoors, influenced by her rural upbringing.
She studied ecology at the University of Nottingham, where she developed a scientific understanding of environmental issues and conservation.
Harrison began her television career in children’s and factual programming, including presenting Blue Peter, which helped establish her as a well-known BBC presenter.
She later became a regular presenter on Countryfile on BBC One, where she reports on countryside issues, wildlife, and environmental topics. She also co-presented Springwatch, one of the BBC’s flagship nature programmes.
