Dylan Dreyer was born on August 2, 1981, in Manalapan Township, New Jersey, United States. She attended Manalapan High School, graduating in 1999, and later studied at Rutgers University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology in 2003. After graduating, she began her career as a meteorologist at several local stations, including WICU-TV in Erie, Pennsylvania, WJAR in Providence, Rhode Island, and WHDH in Boston.
Dreyer joined NBC News in September 2012 and quickly became a familiar face across the network. She regularly appears on NBC’s Today as a weather correspondent and co-host of the 3rd Hour of Today, and often fills in for lead meteorologist Al Roker. She also contributes weather reporting to NBC Nightly News and hosts the wildlife and educational program Earth Odyssey with Dylan Dreyer.
Beyond broadcasting, Dreyer is the author of the bestselling Misty the Cloud children’s book series. In July 2025, she publicly announced her separation from her husband, Brian Fichera, after 12 years of marriage.
