Dilly Carter was born in Sri Lanka and later adopted in 1983 by an English mother, Freda, and a Sri Lankan father Deya, who passed away in 2010. She grew up in a family environment connected to antiques and house clearances, which influenced her later career.
She began her career working in house clearance and antiques before founding Declutter Dollies, a professional organising company that helps people declutter and reorganise their homes.
Carter gained national recognition as a key expert on Sort Your Life Out, broadcast on BBC One, where she works alongside Stacey Solomon to transform cluttered homes into organised spaces.
She is married to Charley, a painter and decorator, and continues to run her business while appearing on television and promoting organisation and mindful living.
