Charlotte Smith

She began her career in journalism working in BBC radio, including roles as a producer on Radio 4’s The World Tonight and as a reporter and presenter on BBC Radio 5 Live. She later contributed to You and Yours, a consumer affairs programme on BBC Radio 4.

Smith joined Countryfile in 1998, becoming one of its longest-serving presenters. She remained on the show until 2009 and returned in 2014 as a guest presenter. The programme airs on BBC One and focuses on rural, farming, and environmental issues.

In addition to television, she is a main presenter of BBC Radio 4’s Farming Today, where she reports on agricultural policy and rural life.
