Charlotte Abbott is a doll restorer and all-round polymath based at the Leith Toy Hospital in Edinburgh, Scotland. Her date of birth and details about her parents are not publicly available.
She brings wide-ranging skills to her role, handling not only doll and plastics restoration but also mechanical and electrical issues, IT, health and safety, and providing what her colleagues describe as an all-round agony aunt service.
The Leith Toy Hospital, where Charlotte works, officially opened its workshop in 2017, growing out of Picture to Puppet, a custom puppet and toy-making business started in 2012. The workshop is based at 64 Constitution Street, Edinburgh. Charlotte joined the team as its dedicated doll restorer and plastics specialist, gaining a reputation for tackling particularly difficult restoration cases.
Charlotte Abbott made her debut as a guest expert on The Repair Shop and has appeared in four episodes as of 2025. On the BBC One programme, she specialises in plastic repairs, restoring the nation’s beloved toys, and in 2025 she repaired a doll with an extraordinary wartime story to mark the 80th anniversary of VE Day.
