He began his career in 1999 working in the ceramics and glass department at Christie’s auction house, where he gained valuable experience in valuation and sales.

Hanson moved into television in 2002 when he joined Bargain Hunt on BBC One, becoming the youngest expert on the programme at the time. He later appeared on other BBC antiques shows including Flog It! and Antiques Road Trip.

In 2005, he founded his own business, Hansons Auctioneers, in Derbyshire, later expanding to London in 2018.

He lives in Derbyshire and has balanced his television work with running his auction company and participating in charity events.
