Brenton West is a British craftsman and silversmith, though his exact date of birth and details about his parents are not widely publicly disclosed. He developed an early interest in making and repairing objects, often working with metal and mechanical items.

He trained in silversmithing at Medway College of Art & Design, where he honed skills in shaping, restoring, and designing metal objects. His work later extended into photography, particularly specialising in 19th-century photographic equipment and techniques.

West built a varied career, including restoring classic cars and working on high-end commissions involving historic silver and metalwork. His craftsmanship has been displayed at prestigious venues such as Goldsmiths’ Hall and the London Design Centre.

He joined The Repair Shop in 2017 as the show’s specialist silversmith and precious metals expert, appearing on BBC Two (later BBC One).
