Ben Fogle was born 3 November 1973 in Westminster, London, England. He is the son of Julia Foster, an English actress, and Bruce Fogle, a Canadian veterinarian and author.

He grew up in London and developed an early interest in nature and adventure. After finishing school he studied at the University of Portsmouth and also spent time studying at the University of Costa Rica.

Fogle first became widely known in 2000 when he participated in the BBC reality programme Castaway 2000, where participants lived for a year on a remote Scottish island. The show launched his television career and led to presenting roles across British television.

He went on to host numerous programmes including Animal Park, Countryfile, and Extreme Dreams. He has hosted the travel documentary series including Scotland’s Sacred Islands with Ben Fogle on BBC One and New Lives in the Wild on Channel 5, where he visits people living in remote locations around the world.

Fogle currently lives in England with his wife, Marina and children while continuing his work as a television presenter, adventurer, author, and environmental ambassador.
