Ben Brown is an English television journalist and presenter for BBC News. He currently presents on the BBC News Channel and regularly hosts BBC News at One on BBC One, as well as appearing on BBC News at Six, Ten, and weekend bulletins.
Brown joined BBC TV News in 1988 after working in radio journalism. Early in his career he served as a foreign affairs correspondent, covering major historic events including the fall of the Berlin Wall and reporting from the Gulf War.
In 1991 he became the BBC’s Moscow correspondent, witnessing the collapse of the Soviet Union and reporting from the Russian parliament during the 1993 political crisis. Later he reported from conflict zones such as Bosnia, Chechnya, and Kosovo, earning international recognition for his war reporting.
Brown also reported from Iraq during the 2003 war and later wrote about his experiences in the book The Battle for Iraq. Since the mid-2000s he has primarily worked as a studio presenter for BBC News programmes.
Outside journalism, Brown keeps his family life private. He is married and has three children, though he rarely discusses them publicly.
