Barry Phillips is a compass and small instrument expert who appeared on BBC’s The Repair Shop as a guest expert specialising in compasses and other small items.

Before establishing his own business, Barry worked for SIRS/Sestrel compasses for a number of years, becoming highly versed in their construction and repair.

He subsequently founded BPSC Marine Services, his own compass and marine instrument repair business. It operates as a one-stop repair, sales, and advisory service for compasses and navigational instruments of all kinds.

On The Repair Shop, Barry tackled the restoration of an old military compass that had seen service in both World Wars — one of the most technically specialist items ever brought into the barn.
