Anne-Marie Green was born on September 21, 1971, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, to Jamaican immigrant parents. She attended the University of Toronto and later completed a postgraduate journalism program at Humber College. She launched her broadcasting career at CKVR-TV in Barrie and Rogers Cable News in Mississauga.

Green later worked as a news anchor at CITY-TV and CablePulse 24 in Toronto, Canada. She then moved to the U.S. in 2004 to join CBS affiliate KYW-TV in Philadelphia as a general assignment reporter and weekend co-anchor. Her reporting there included coverage of rising C-section rates in New Jersey hospitals and a fatal Delaware River duck boat crash, work that earned her national recognition. 

Anne-Marie Green joined CBS News nationally in 2012. She then became an anchor on CBS Morning News in January 2013, a role she held for over a decade while also anchoring CBS News 24/7. In 2024, she moved to 48 Hours as a full-time correspondent, reporting on major criminal investigations. She also hosts 48 Hours: Post Mortem, the show’s weekly companion podcast.
