Angela Scanlon was born on 29 December 1983 in Ratoath, County Meath, Ireland. Her father worked in construction and her mother in administration, and she grew up with three sisters.

She studied business at Technological University Dublin before initially working in journalism and fashion, writing for publications such as Tatler and The Sunday Times Style. Her early media work included Irish television programmes before transitioning into broadcasting.

Scanlon gained prominence in the UK as a reporter on The One Show (BBC One) from 2016 and later co-presented Robot Wars on BBC Two. She went on to host home and lifestyle programmes such as Your Home Made Perfect and appeared on Strictly Come Dancing in 2023.

In 2026, she became the presenter of The Apprentice: Unfinished Business on BBC Two, a companion show featuring interviews with fired candidates and analysis of each episode.

She currently lives in north London with her husband, Roy Horgan and two children, balancing television work with family life.
