Andrew O’Donnell

Profile Overview

Andrew O’Donnell is a Scottish wildlife filmmaker and television presenter best known for Roaming in the Wild on BBC Scotland, which he co-hosts with Mark Taylor.

He grew up in Lennoxtown, Scotland, near the Campsie Hills, where he developed a strong connection to nature. His friendship with Mark Taylor began in childhood, and the two later worked together and collaborated professionally.

O’Donnell’s television career evolved from creating short natural-history films for BBC Scotland’s The Social around 2016. These clips eventually led to the development of Roaming in the Wild, which premiered in 2019 and follows the pair on slow-paced outdoor adventures across Scotland.

Beyond presenting, he plays a major production role—directing, filming, editing, and even composing music for the series under the name Beluga Lagoon.
