Amanda Holden was born 16 February 1971 in Portsmouth, Hampshire, England. She is the daughter of Frank Holden and Judith Mary Harrison, and she grew up in Bishop’s Waltham where she developed an interest in acting at a young age.
Holden began her television career in the early 1990s with appearances on shows such as Blind Date. She later gained recognition for acting roles in television series including Wild at Heart, Cutting It, and Kiss Me Kate.
Her major breakthrough came in 2007 when she joined the judging panel of Britain’s Got Talent on ITV, becoming one of the show’s most recognizable personalities. She has remained a judge on the programme for many years and also co-hosts the weekday radio programme Heart Breakfast on Heart FM and renovation series such as Amanda & Alan’s Greek Job.
Holden lives in England with her husband, Chris Hughes and their two children and continues to work in television, radio, theatre, and charity campaigns.
