Alex Scott was born on 14 October 1984 in Poplar, London, England to a Jamaican father and an English mother. She began playing football at a young age and eventually joined the youth system at Arsenal, where she built a highly successful professional career.
After retiring from professional football in 2017, Scott moved into broadcasting. She became a regular football pundit and presenter for BBC Sport, covering major tournaments including the FIFA World Cup and Women’s World Cup.
In 2021 she became the main presenter of Football Focus on BBC One, making history as the programme’s first permanent female host. She has also appeared on Match of the Day, The One Show, and BBC Sports Personality of the Year.
Scott hasn’t explicitly labelled her sexuality and claims to be in relationships with men and women. She is currently in a relationship with singer Jessica Glynne.
