Quick facts about the channel

A&E is a long-running American cable network specializing in unscripted programming centered on real people, real crimes, and real stories. It launched in 1984 as the Arts & Entertainment Network, focused initially on fine arts and cultural documentaries, before pivoting to contemporary reality programming. The network is the flagship brand of A+E Global Media, a 50-50 joint venture between Hearst Communications and The Walt Disney Company.

A&E is a powerhouse in true-crime and justice-themed programming, with a schedule that features the long-running hit The First 48, which follows real homicide investigations. Other iconic shows include  60 Days In and Intervention, which provide raw insight into complex social and legal issues. On the other hand, newer hits like Customer Wars and Neighborhood Wars capture intense everyday confrontations, defining the network’s reputation for unfiltered drama.

The network also offers reality TV and lifestyle programming, including the Duck Dynasty franchise, Storage Wars, Ocean Front Property Hunt, and Hoarders. Additionally, A&E maintains its lucrative partnership with WWE through WWE-based series like WWE LFG, WWE Rivals, and WWE’s Greatest Moments

Notable talent on A&E includes Dan Aykroyd, who hosts the historical events series The UnBelievable, and actor Henry Winkler, who narrates Hazardous History. Other key personalities include Tony Harris (Lie Detector: Truth or Deception), and Mary and Jon Pierre Tjon-Joe-Pin (Willing to Flip).
